The ABC’s of living in Spain

Andalusia is a beautiful place to visit for gorgeous beaches and a warm climate.

 

 

Barcelona is also quite nice if you’re looking for a bohemian, beach city.

 

Catalan, Basque and Galician are three common languages spoken in Spain, apart from Spanish.

 

Dali Theatre-Museum visitors will be able to see some works of the great Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí.

 

Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida is famous for its ceiling and dome frescoes by Goya, who was also buried there.

 

Flamenco is a typical Spanish music and dance that originates from the Andalusia region.

 

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is the stunning modern and contemporary art museum built in Bilbao, Basque Country.

 

Horcher will be a unique dining experience for Madrid interns. The famous German restaurant serves traditional dishes like wild boar and venison.

 

Ibiza and Formentera’s hidden beach coves are a sweet, sunny escape from the bustle of the city.

 

Jamon serrano or dry-cured Spanish ham is a great snack for interns looking for a savory food to serve with fresh bread and cheese during an afternoon picnic.

La Tomatina is a Spanish festival where locals throw tomatoes at one another.

 

Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is a stunning Catholic cathedral known for its Moorish architecture and a World Heritage Site.

 

Naval Museum is a Madrid-based museum that tells the history of the Spanish navy starting in the 15th century.

 

Corral de la Morería is a famous Madrid “Tablao” where you can watch some of the best flamenco dancing in the city.

 

Prado Museum is where art lovers around the world visit to see famous artwork including many works by Goya.

 

Quietly visit the Reina Sofia art museum for a look at Picasso’s famous Guernica, and many other world famous works.

 

Real Madrid is Spain’s famous football club, founded in 1902 and based in Madrid.

 

Segovia’s beautiful, historic architecture will leave visitors in awe. The stunning city is located a short distance northwest of Madrid.

 

Tapas or small plates are a famous Spanish culinary tradition and are great for an evening out accompanied with some red wine.

 

Uno de 50 is a unique jewelry store, great for finding hip, inexpensive pieces by Spanish designer Concha Díaz del Río.

 

Villa Plaza is a beautiful, historic Madrid plaza located in the central part of the city.

 

Walking through the beautiful Barrio de las Letras neighborhood is a great way to pass a sunny afternoon.
