If you’re dying to see the world but travelling is tricky, virtual travel tours are the perfect way to cure your travel bug, if only temporarily, and they're a great way to discover the types of places you might like to visit in-person, which is especially important when you're thinking of moving abroad for an internship. While we might all love to travel constantly, it isn’t always possible. Whether due to finances, schedules, or travel restrictions, there will be times when travel isn’t safe or feasible. But that doesn’t mean you can’t experience the world and its wonders.

Check out these awe-inspiring virtual travel tours:

    • Explore Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park in California is one of the top natural attractions in the United States. The park is famous for its immense granite cliffs and beautiful waterfalls. It’s the perfect destination for people who love hiking, rock climbing, photography, and great views. Virtually summit the famous Half Dome, hike along the John Muir trail, and take in Yosemite falls on this incredible virtual travel tour.

    • Swim with sharks in the Bahamas

This excellent virtual tour created by camera-maker GoPro offers 360-degree views of elusive hammerhead sharks. Travel via your phone or laptop to the beautiful waters of the Bahamas and swim alongside them, without the adrenaline rush. It's the perfect way to get up close and personal with one of nature's most feared animals.

The sunset over the Great Wall of China. A man walks along the top of the wall.

    • Walk the Great Wall of China

Now you can visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World from home. As China’s most famous attraction, the Great Wall is more than 3,000 miles long, which would take around a year and a half to walk across, and is seeped in historical significance. It's a breath-taking sight and now you can experience it without having to walk miles per day!

    • Take a tour of the Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system, and is an incredible destination most people never visit. With this excellent virtual tour, you can experience all the reef has to offer. And who better to lead that tour than broadcaster and natural historian Sir David Attenborough?

    • Hike the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is easily one of the most impressive geological attractions in the world. Thanks to Google, you can experience the famous Bright Angel Trail, without steep climbs or potentially hot weather. If you’re looking for a remote tour with impressive views, this may just be the one for you.

    • Admire the Palace of Versailles

If you’ve ever been to France, chances are you’ve visited the incredible Palace of Versailles, one of the country’s top attractions. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the former palace is home to priceless works of art and beautiful gardens. If you want a cultural experience, take this virtual tour through Versailles' many exhibits.

If you prefer to explore the world virtually or can't get abroad but still want to expand your horizons, and maybe even your career prospects, why not try a virtual internship? You'll get to intern remotely for an overseas organization without leaving your home country, so you get the both of best worlds! However, if you want to take the plunge and explore spectacular places in person after browsing them online, then one of our in-person internship programs will ensure you get immersed in a new culture whilst gaining hands-on, practical career experience.

Discover the right internship for you and kickstart your career!
