Community & social events

During your internship program, you will have the opportunity to socialise and make friends with like-minded individuals from all over the world.

For in-person interns, our in-country teams will organize a variety of culturally-immersive experiences that are unique to your destination, giving you the chance to network and explore your new surroundings. For remote interns, you will have the chance to join a range of exciting online social events and chat with other virtual interns around the globe, allowing you to share your experiences and grow your network.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available in each of our in-person destinations. If you would prefer, you can also find your own accommodation or stay with friends or family in your internship destination. You can see the cost of the program in each destination with and without accommodation on our program fees page.

Accommodation varies by destination, but every intern has their own bedroom and access to WiFi. You might also share common spaces with other like-minded peers.

We take care to make sure that all our housing options are located within a reasonable commute to your host organization and have essential amenities nearby. Please see our individual destination pages for more information on each destination's accommodation options.

Career Advancement Training

You will benefit from career advancement tools before, during, and after your internship program. These tools enable you to successfully prepare for your internship before you start, make the most of your experience while you’re on-program, and successfully sell your experience in interviews to future employers.

You will be asked to take a pre-program DDI International workplace personality and skills assessment and will be given access to a library of training materials designed to help you succeed. These materials include tips and advice on interview techniques, adapting to international working environments, making a lasting impression in the workplace, and building your personal brand.

During your internship, training is delivered through a combination of videos, podcasts, articles, quizzes, and projects and you will receive a LinkedIn badge upon completion. Subjects include critical thinking, oral/written communication, teamwork, digital technology, leadership, professionalism, career management, and global/intellectual fluency.

You will also be granted access to our CV improvement tool, helping you to effectively communicate your achievements and skills to future employers program.

Alumni Success Coaching

We partner with experienced career coaches to provide our interns with a personalized, one hour career coaching session upon completing the program. Interns are able to choose from our portfolio of experts who you would like to guide you through your next steps after your international internship. These are just a few of the topics covered:

Exclusive workshop series

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to elevate their professional skills by receiving access to tailor-made Workshop Series that are exclusive to program participants, including interview practice sessions with worldwide peers, CV review workshops, Linkedin workshops, and more!

You will also receive invitations to Keynote Speaker events featuring industry experts through panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions where you can participate in live Q&A sessions, giving you an the opportunity to enhance your skills and network with the best in the business!

24/7 Support

For in-person interns, our full-time on-the-ground teams offers 24/7 support with local expertise, from start to finish. They are incredibly proud of the life & culture of each destination and want to show you why! They will organize your airport pick-up when you arrive, along with a thorough welcome orientation to help you settle into the city and feel at ease. They will be there to help support you in any way you need throughout your internship.

For remote interns, our virtual team offer 24/7 emergency support and will be available throughout your internship program should you have any questions or queries.

We also partner with Talkspace to provide all our participants with fully anonymous access to a licensed online therapist for up to 3 months. This ensures you will always have someone to talk to when adjusting to life in your new city.
