Here are a few examples of roles that our photography interns in Ireland have taken on before:

• Photojournalist

  A photojournalist provides images for newspapers, magazines, television, and journals. Interns in photojournalism may have the opportunity to contribute to the development of articles about politics, sports, community events, foreign affairs, and current affairs, on a local and/or global scale.

   

• Commercial Photographer

  Exposed to a wide variety of industries, from landscapes to merchandise, as well as a variety of objects and subjects, including models and machinery, a commercial photographer’s work is used in marketing material, such as advertisements, magazines, or catalogs. Interns will have the opportunity to gain maximum exposure in multiple sectors or concentrate on their preferred niche.

• Portrait Photographer

  Portrait photographers work closely with subjects, which may be the client themselves or models. The specialty of a portrait photographer is to capture images of their subjects at various events or locations, which may include weddings or school photos. Interns in portrait photography may be required to work on location or in a studio and will be exposed to various techniques.

• Photo Editor

  A photo editor is responsible for selecting and editing the images captured by a photographer, and fine-tuning them to be published. Internships in Photography in Ireland focusing on photo editing will involve learning how to use image-editing software and editing techniques. Interns will also learn how to edit and format photos in preparation for digital use and/or print.
