Thailand’s capital is the perfect place for young professionals. There are many reasons to go to Bangkok, from the food and the friendly locals to the travel opportunities. All of this has made Bangkok one of the top 10 most visited cities in the world. Deciding whether to travel or gain professional experience is a tough call. However, with an international internship, you can truly have the best of both worlds.

Here are 5 reasons to go to Bangkok for your international internship:

    1. Travel

For anyone who has the traveling bug, there are endless reasons to go to Bangkok. You could spend weeks exploring Thailand’s different regions, from Bangkok itself to the southern islands and the mountains in the north. Of course, if you’re ever able to finish exploring Thailand, Southeast Asia offers an immense list of must-see destinations as Thailand is in a great location for short trips to countries like Singapore and The Philippines. Bangkok is a great place for people to immerse themselves in Thai culture and there's so much to see and do from trying delicious street food to marveling at gorgeous architecture to relaxing at a nearby beach, there's plenty to see and do - we can promise you won't be bored during the downtime during your internship!

    2. Weather

For those looking for a warm-weather getaway, Bangkok is the place for you! The temperatures are warm all year round, even during the rainy seasons. Of course, for a true beach vacation, head to Thailand’s famous islands. Here, you’ll find white beaches, sparkling blue water, and an endless list of activities. From kayaking, snorkeling, and sunbathing to hiking and biking, weather permits any activity, anytime.

    3. Food

Thai food is well-known and well-loved around the world. Each region of Thailand is known for different dishes, flavors, and ingredients. Interns in Thailand's capital, Bangkok, will have access to try them all! From breakfasts and main dishes to desserts and snacks, the streets of Bangkok have everything you could want. Food in the city is delicious and incredibly cheap. Most locals eat all three daily meals in the various markets and streets. It's the perfect opportunity to try something new and delicious!

    4. Networking

Bangkok is an incredibly international and multicultural city. In addition, Thailand is one of the region’s strongest economies, meaning that many of the world’s top experts and entrepreneurs call it home. If you’re looking to build up an international network, there’s no better place than Bangkok! Link with your fellow interns and colleagues at your internship workplace on LinkedIn as well as keep up and engaging with other companies in Bangkok, say 'yes' to work social activities, and see how quickly your network will grow! Having a large network abroad could be beneficial when it comes to finding full-time careers abroad and at home.

    5. Culture

Thai culture is extremely friendly and welcoming. This is one of the reasons people from all over the world look to make Bangkok their home. Family and religion are both extremely important in Thai culture, as is self-awareness and etiquette. Of course, if you’re heading to Thailand as an intern, it will be important to learn a bit about Thai business culture, so that you’re able to be a successful member of your organization. Brush up on the local customs and Thai business practices before you go and soon you'll be acting like a local!

Now that you know about these 5 reasons to go to Bangkok, apply now for an internship in Thailand.
