Accommodation
Private Bedroom
As an intern in Colombia, you will have your own private lockable bedroom in a co-living building and shared bathroom, kitchenette with others. All apartments come with bedding, basic kitchen appliances, basic WiFi, and 24/7 front desk for your peace of mind. Additional facilities include a coworking space and coffee shop. Your accommodation will be located in a great area within a 30 - 60 minute commute to your internship location.
Visa Information
General Eligibility
- You must hold a passport with at least 12 months validity.
Visa Rules
- The visa lasts for 90 days, and extendable for another 90 days while in Colombia. One cannot stay in Colombia for more than 180 days per calendar year.
- Visa extension cost is estimated at USD 30. The Intern Group’s program fee does not cover the government cost and other associated expenses regarding visa applications (if any).
- The Intern Group will provide you with a supporting letter for a visa extension application (Permiso Temporal de Permanecia PTP) although it is your responsibility to complete the application.
- You must not engage in paid activities in Colombia.

Career Advancement Training
Interns benefit from career advancement tools before, during, and following their Colombia internship program. These tools enable you to successfully prepare for your internship before you start, make the most of your experience while you’re interning in the Medellín, and successfully sell your experience in interviews to future employers.
During your internship, training is delivered through a combination of videos, podcasts, articles, quizzes, and projects and you will receive a LinkedIn badge upon completion. Subjects include critical thinking, oral/written communication, teamwork, digital technology, leadership, professionalism, career management, and global/intellectual fluency.
You will also be granted access to our CV improvement tool and will be invited to attend exclusive tailor-made workshops including interview practice sessions with worldwide peers, CV review workshops, Linkedin workshops, and more!

24/7 Support
Traveling abroad for your internship is a big step. Our on the ground Colombia team offers 24/7 support with local expertise, from start to finish. Paisas are extremely eager to show the rest of the world why Colombia is so great! They will organize your airport pick-up when you arrive in Medellin. The team will also provide a thorough welcome orientation to help you settle into the city and feel at ease.
Our Colombia team is available throughout your internship program should you have any questions or queries.
We also partner with Talkspace to provide all our participants with fully anonymous access to a licensed online therapist for up to 3 months. This ensures you’ll always have someone to talk to when adjusting to life in your new city.
Colombia Language Classes
We are proud to be partners with one of the best universities in Colombia – Universidad EAFIT, located in El Poblado. Having educated an array of prominent Colombian businessmen, politicians and artists and with over 30,000 students subscribed, it’s a great chance to immediately make new Colombian friends. Spanish classes are available at Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels and are also available as a 2 week intensive course.
